ケーニヒスベルクの橋:7本の橋をすべてちょうど1回ずつ渡る道はない(頂点の次数から示す)。
1 オイラー路と次数
辺の集合 \(E\)、接続 \(I\)(\((e, u) \in I\) は「\(u\) が辺 \(e\) の端」)で、どの辺もちょうど2つの異なる端をもつグラフを考えます。
頂点の列 \(v(0), \dots, v(t)\) と辺の列 \(w(0), \dots, w(t-1)\) で、\(w(i)\) が \(v(i)\) と \(v(i+1)\) を結び、どの辺もちょうど1回現れるもの(オイラー路)があれば、両端以外の頂点 \(x\) の次数(\(x\) を端とする辺の個数)は偶数です。
\(\forall e \in E . \exists y , z \, y \neq z , \forall u \, ( \langle e , u \rangle \in I \Longleftrightarrow u = y \mathbin{\rm o\!r} u = z ) , t \in \mathbb{M} , \forall i \in \mathbb{M} . 島 \(d\) と陸地 \(a, b, c\) を7本の橋 \(0, \dots, 6\) が結びます(\(d\)–\(a\) に 0 と 1、\(d\)–\(b\) に 2 と 3、\(d\)–\(c\) に 4、\(a\)–\(c\) に 5、\(b\)–\(c\) に 6)。\(a, b, c\) はどれも3本の橋の端(次数が奇数)で、道の両端にならない頂点がその中に残るので、どの歩き方も7本の橋をちょうど1回ずつ渡ることはできません。
